Today, the Seminarians from our Archdiocesan Seminaries–Pope John XXIII, Seminary, San Carlos Seminary College, and Seminario Mayor de San Carlos–gather at the Martins of Lisieux Chapel for the Send-off Mass of this year’s Vocation Awareness Campaign, anchored on the theme: “Let us be Witnesses of Hope.”
The Mass was presided over by one of the Vicars General, Msgr. Rogelio Fuentes, together with Fr. Alvin Raypan (SCSC Rector), Fr. Christian James Mayol (Cebu Archdiocesan Vocation Director), and the priest-formators of the different Archdiocesan Seminaries.
Since the SCSC Community also celebrates today the Anniversary of the Dedication of their Chapel, Msgr. Fuentes anchored his reflection on being set apart for God’s work.
“Just as this place was set aside for Sacred Worship, so have you been set apart to work in the vineyard of the Lord. This is the task that lies ahead: we are called to be Witnesses of Hope, to share what we have received from God – the call to holiness – with others. May our examples be a witness to others that the lives we have chosen to lead are still worth considering.”
Let us pray for our Seminarians, and for our young people, that many may consider answering God’s call to holiness through the priesthood and the Religious Life.
