In preparation for the closing celebrations of its 425th Founding Anniversary, the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Carcar City, Cebu, holds its 9th Day of Novena.
Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma presided over the Holy Mass. He was joined by the parish team of pastors headed by Msgr. Jose Dosado, Jr. (Team Moderator and District 3 Episcopal Vicar), and other visiting priests.
In his homily, the good Archbishop encouraged the faithful to look back with gratitude and praise the Lord for all the blessings He has poured upon the parish and its parishioners.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the more we are blessed, the more we should become blessings to other people.
“Ang grasya nga atong nadawat, angay kini ipaambit ngadto sa uban. Ang gasa ni Lord are meant dili lamang para nato, they are meant to be shared, aron makaingon o makakita sila sa pagkamaayo sa Ginoo ug nga taliwala sa lainlaing problema sa kinabuhi, dunay paglaum, kay atong gipasayod nga dunay Diyos nga nahigugma kanato,” said Archbishop Palma.
Before the Holy Mass, the good Archbishop blessed the newly renovated convent rooms.
Tomorrow, June 21, the shrine and parish will formally close its year-long 425th jubilee celebrations. Msgr. Trinidad Silva Jr. will preside over the 10:00 AM Holy Mass.
