Archbishop urges parents to emulate St. Joseph

On the eve of the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy presides over the Visperas Mass at the St. Joseph Chapel, Archbishop’s Residence Compound, D. Jakosalem St., Cebu City.

The good Archbishop was joined by Fr. Eligio Suico (Chairman, Commission on Family and Life) and other visiting priests.

Archbishop Abet, in his homily, called the faithful to reflect on three virtues embodied by Saint Joseph: humility, obedience, and trustworthiness.

He particularly urged parents to look to St. Joseph as a model. In the moment of losing the child Jesus, Joseph did not cast blame or give in to despair. Instead, he responded with steadfast love and responsibility, setting out to search for his son with unwavering trust.

“Katong mga ginikanan nga naay mga anak nga nawala o nagpabadlong, padayon lang. Pangitaa lang siya. Makit-an ra lagi,” said Archbishop Abet.

Tomorrow, March 19, Msgr. Roger Fuentes will preside over the 5:00 PM Fiesta Mass.
