Archbishop Uy meets District 7 clergy in Carmen

With a spirit of humility and openness, Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy continues his listening journey across Cebu, reaching District 7 today for a dialogue with priests at St. Augustine of Hippo Parish in Carmen.

The day commenced with a gracious welcome from the local faithful, followed by a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Archbishop Uy.

Acknowledging the weight of life’s trials, Archbishop Uy called on the faithful to keep alive in their minds and hearts the certainty of God’s abiding care — that no matter the burden, His hand is always there to lead and console.

He added that as followers of Christ, we are called to reflect God’s love by helping others draw closer to Him, and never by standing in the way of His grace at work in their lives.

“If after so many prayers and church attendance, we still are not compassionate, maybe we are missing the heart of Christ,” said Archbishop Abet.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, the clergy engaged in a meaningful dialogue, exchanging reflections and ideas on how to foster greater unity and collaboration within the presbyterium.

This initiative highlights Archbishop Uy’s pastoral vision — one grounded in sincere dialogue and mutual discernment — as he continues to accompany and empower the priests who guide the faithful throughout the Archdiocese of Cebu.
