Nurturing a spirit of presbyteral fraternity and synodality, Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy continues his ongoing listening journey with the clergy today, meeting with the priests of District 2, or Metro Cebu South.
The day started with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Archbishop Abet.
Reflecting on the tender heart of the Good Shepherd, the Archbishop, in his homily, reminded the faithful that at some moments in life, we, too, become the lost sheep. Yet God—who leaves the ninety-nine to search for the one—never tires of seeking us out. He is always ready to welcome us home; we need only to seek Him, or simply allow ourselves to be found.
“Ang atong Ginoo, ang Magbalantay sa Karnero, usa ka Amahan nga dunay dakong kasingkasing para sa iyang mga anak. Ug salamat sa Diyos kay may paglaum pa tang tanan,” said Archbishop Abet.
Following the Mass, the clergy entered into a substantive dialogue with the Archbishop, offering pastoral insights, raising local concerns, and expressing their hopes for strengthening their ministry and enlivening the life of their parishes.
