Earlier today, Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy, together with the Cebu Caritas Team, stood in solidarity with the grieving families of the Binaliw trash-slide victims at the San Pedro Calungsod Parish in Pulangbato, Cebu City.
Beyond providing material and financial assistance, the visit centered on what the families needed most in this moment of loss: spiritual accompaniment, compassionate presence, and psychological debriefing to help them begin the long journey toward healing.
The initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Task Force from the University of San Carlos, led by Fr. Roger Bag-ao, SVD Provincial, and the USC Psychological Service Center, whose combined efforts ensured that care was extended in both faith and professional support.
