ASMVAM holds 4th Children’s Congress

The Archdiocesan Safeguarding of Minors and Vulnerable Adults Ministry, in partnership with the Salvatorian Pastoral Care for Children (SPCC), successfully held the 4th Archdiocesan Children’s Congress last November 8, bringing together hundreds of young advocates, parents, and community members in a celebration of faith, resilience, and child empowerment.

Anchored on the theme “Children of Hope: With Faith and Love, Stand for Child Rights,” the congress sought to deepen children’s understanding of their rights and responsibilities as members of both the Church and society. It encouraged young participants to become active defenders of their peers, to live out their faith through acts of love, and to foster solidarity among children and families.

The gathering also served as a safe and nurturing space for children to process and debrief their experiences following the recent earthquake and typhoon. Through guided reflection, creative activities, and peer interaction, participants were supported in their journey toward emotional healing and resilience—rooted in the values of hope, faith, and mutual care.

More than 250 children, parents, and youth advocates took part in the event, reflecting the Church’s ongoing commitment to creating communities where every child feels valued, protected, and heard.
