The Cebu Archdiocesan Commission on Social Communications is now accepting nominations for the Communication Advocate Award, which recognizes volunteers in the Archdiocese of Cebu who have selflessly shared their time, talent, and expertise in the ministry of social communication.
Through this award, the Archdiocese through the Commission honors those who faithfully, and often quietly, bring the message of hope to others–online, on air, in print, or behind the scenes.
Purpose of the Award
The Communication Advocate Award aims to
- recognize volunteers who faithfully use social communication as a tool for evangelization
- encourage creative and responsible use of media in spreading the Gospel
- highlight the vital role of communication ministries in the life of the Church
- inspire young people and creatives to serve the Church through social communication
Who may be nominated?
The award is open for active volunteers serving in any parish, vicariate or archdiocesan community within the Archdiocese of Cebu (or may be on a national or international level as the case may be). Nominees must be involved in communication-related attributes, such as:
- media or livestreaming team
- social media page administrators or content creators
- writers, editors, and layout artists for parish publications
- photographers and videographers
- technical support for church events
- creatives using traditional (including plays, communication events, others) or digital platforms for evangelization
Basic Qualifications
Nominees must
- have served actively in a parish or archdiocesan communication ministry for at least seven (7) years
- be of good moral standing and committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church
- have an endorsement from their parish priest or ministry head
Nomination Requirements
A complete nomination includes:
- Accomplished Nomination Form. A nominator, whether a priest, ministry head, or recognized church leader, should be identified and sign and submit the nomination form.
- Endorsement Letter signed by the parish priest, ministry head, or a church leader (or a representative from the episcopal commission or dicastery, as the case may be).
- Short biodata or background highlighting the nominee’s communication work
- List of works or projects accomplished
- (Optional) Photos, links, or testimonials from collaborators or parish/community members
Submission and Selection
All entries will be screened and evaluated and shortlisted based on the criteria by a committee from the Archdiocesan Commission on Social Communication.
Finalists will be interviewed by a Board of Judges composed of clergy and lay experts from or outside the Archdiocese or invited from national or international level.
Deadline of submission will be on November 30, 2025
