CADComM launches new media vehicle, unveils patron saint, and upcoming projects

The Cebu Archdiocesan Digital Communications Ministry (CADComM) marked a significant milestone in its mission for digital evangelization with the blessing of its newly acquired vehicle and equipment.

Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma led the blessing in the presence of Fr. Junel Fuentes (CADComM Director) and Fr. Bonnin Olivar (Assistant Director Pro tempore), Fr. Noel Meñoso, Missionary Catechists of St. Thérèse (MCST) Sisters, ministry benefactors, and volunteers.

In his short reflection during the rite of blessing, the good Archbishop reminded everyone of the two-fold movements of blessing – the blessing that comes from us which rises to God, and the one that comes from God to us.

He prays that the equipment, images, and opportunities will allow the members of the ministry as they proclaim God’s wonders, mercy, and love in the online sphere.

“We continue to pray not just for the vehicle, but more significantly, the entrustment of the journey of the direction, of the ways [so that] we can be more grateful, more responsible for the gifts we have received… knowing that people in the world hunger for truth, justice and love, and long for what is noble and beautiful around us,” said Archbishop Palma.

Fr. Noel Menoso introduced and unveiled CADComM’s patron saint, Blessed Carlo Acutis, who shall be canonized this September 7 by Pope Leo XIV. Known for his deep devotion to the Eucharist and pioneering the use of digital platforms for evangelization, Acutis was chosen as patron to inspire the Ministry’s mission to “bring Christ to the digital world.”

The ministry also presented and recognized its collaborators led by CADComM Head Coordinator Carmelle Claire Therese Estenzo.

Aside from the blessing, another highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the Ministry’s upcoming plans and projects by Fr. Fuentes. He announced the relaunching of the Archdiocese’s official website and the renovation of specific areas of the IEC Tower to serve as the future CADComM Mission Hub.

The website, which will be launched on July 16, shall serve as a vehicle of online evangelization for the Archdiocese. On the other hand, the future CADComM Mission Hub shall house a full-capacity digital production studio, training and collaborative workspaces, and billeting quarters for volunteers and training participants.

With these developments, CADComM continues to expand its reach in forming future digital missionaries and strengthening the Church’s presence in the digital world.
