As the Month of the Holy Rosary draws to a close, the Commission on Youth – Cebu and the Cebu Archdiocesan Social Advocacies are inviting the faithful to take part in a meaningful act of prayer and civic responsibility — the Grand Rosary Rally Against Corruption on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
The rally, themed “Sangpit kay Maria” (A Call to Mary), seeks to unite Marian devotion with the Church’s social mission, bringing together faith and action in the face of corruption and moral decline. It will serve as both a spiritual gathering and a public stand for integrity, peace, and moral renewal in society.
The event will begin with an assembly at 2:00 PM at Sto. Rosario Parish, Cebu City, followed by a solemn procession at 3:00 PM to Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish – Redemptorist Church. The day will culminate with a Eucharistic Celebration at 6:00 PM, to be presided over by Fr. Philip Portillo, CSsR.
Participants are encouraged to wear plain white shirts, bring Rosary beads, a candle, and a tumbler, and carry creative posters promoting integrity and peace, made from eco-friendly materials.
Organizers emphasized that the rally is not merely a protest but a pilgrimage of prayer — a collective call for transformation that begins with the conversion of hearts.
“This gathering is both an act of faith and a statement of conscience,” said one organizer. “Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we pray for a renewed spirit of honesty, accountability, and peace among our people.”
With the rally’s message resounding through prayer and public witness, Cebu’s faithful are invited to come together — one Church, one people, one nation — to lift their voices and hearts in the hope of a society grounded in truth and integrity.
