Clergy attends seminar on Safeguarding

The members of the Clergy in Metro Cebu gather at the Galilee Centrale of the Pope John XXIII Seminary for the Archdiocesan Orientation Seminar on Safeguarding.

This archdiocesan initiative is an expression of the local church’s commitment to respond to the ongoing safeguarding concerns. It aims to equip the clergy with foundational knowledge in relation to the standards of the Safeguarding Ministry in the Catholic Church, to appreciate and learn from best practices in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults within the Church’s ministries and institutions, to support the archdiocese in implementing its safeguarding policy and program by reviewing and aligning them with the Church’s Universal Guidelines Framework and to propose possible ongoing formation and training programs for the clergy and other stakeholders.

Today’s speaker is Fr. John Era, CM.

This is the first leg of the series of seminars. On Thursday, May 22, the Clergy in Southern Cebu will gather at Theotokos in Perrelos, Carcar City, with Dr. Gabriel Dy-Llaco as the speaker. On June 3, the Clergy in Northern Cebu will gather at CEBECO II Multipurpose Hall in Malingin, Bogo City, to be facilitated by Fr. John Era, CM.
