The Junior Clergy of the Archdiocese of Cebu has successfully concluded their five-day annual retreat, a period of reflection and renewal aimed at strengthening the spiritual and pastoral life of the presbyterate.
Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy served as the retreat facilitator, offering rich reflections on key dimensions of priestly life, including Human Formation, Fraternal and Pastoral Charity, Integral Ecology, Accountability, Stewardship, Synodal Leadership, and Spiritual Life.
In a message shared on his Facebook page, Archbishop Uy reminded the junior clergy to “stay awake,” to serve with sincerity of heart, to walk closely with the poor and the wounded, to remain faithful in their vocation, and above all, to stay near to Jesus—the source of their mission.
“We do not know the day or the hour, but we know the One who calls us. And if we walk with Him daily— in prayer, humility, compassion, and integrity—then whatever day the Lord comes, He will find us not afraid, but ready, joyful, and faithful servants of His Church,” said Archbishop Abet.
Let us continue to pray for our priests, that they may be strengthened, guided, and renewed in the Lord’s service.
