Lenten Examination of Conscience – Week 1

Join us for a Lenten Examination of Conscience every weekend in March. This week, we reflect on peace with oneself — looking inward, entrusting our burdens to God, and renewing our commitment to live as bearers of peace in a world longing for healing.

Lent invites us to pause, reflect, and return to the Lord with sincere hearts. In line with the prayer intentions of Pope Leo XIV and the world’s need for peace, we are called to examine how we nurture peace within ourselves, our relationships, and our role as instruments of reconciliation.

Begin your prayer by invoking the Holy Spirit, asking for light and honesty of heart. Then, reflect prayerfully on the questions below.

  1. Did I accept myself as a person loved by God, with both my strengths and weaknesses?
  2. When difficulties, mistakes, or criticism came, did I respond with patience and compassion toward myself?
  3. What disturbed my inner peace recently, and how can entrust it to God and seek greater peace tomorrow?
