The Parroquia de San Roque de Montpellier in Asturias, Cebu, celebrates its 140th Founding Anniversary.
Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma presides over the Thanksgiving Mass. With him are Fr. Isidrito Ducao II (Parish Priest), Fr. Bense Mante (Parochial Vicar), and other visiting priests.
In his homily, the good Archbishop encouraged the faithful to look back to the past with gratitude and look forward with hope as they celebrate their founding anniversary this Jubilee Year.
“We look at the past with a new vision, sa mata nga mapinasalamaton kay [nalabang nato lain-lain nga trials] ug makaingon kita, pinangga kita sa Diyos . . . Sa panaw sa kinabuhi, dili kita 100% sure about the future. Pero, we are 100% sure who holds the future, way lain, ang Ginoo,” said Archbishop Palma.
Before the Holy Mass, the good Archbishop led the blessing of the parish church’s ceiling and renovated interiors.
