The faithful is invited to take part in the Annual Penitential Walk with Mary tomorrow, Thursday, January 15, one of the major devotional highlights of the 461st Fiesta Señor.
The assembly time at the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be at 2:00 AM.
At 2:30 AM, the sacred image of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Cebu will be brought out in procession toward Fuente Osmeña Circle, where it will converge with the larger body of devotees.
By 4:00 AM, the procession will proceed from Fuente Osmeña Circle to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu. This will be followed by the 5:30 AM Holy Mass.
After the Mass, the Traslación will begin. The images of Our Lady of Guadalupe de Cebu and the Señor Santo Niño de Cebu will journey to the National Shrine of St. Joseph in Mandaue City.
This year’s Traslación is historic, as it takes place on the 8th Day of the Novenario, instead of the traditional 9th Day.
The holy images will remain overnight at the National Shrine of St. Joseph.
On Friday, January 16, 2026, at 6:00 AM, the images of the Sagrada Familia de Cebu will be brought to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Rule in Lapu-Lapu City.
