He arrived in the Philippines already a bishop having been consecrated in the year 1680 on the feast of St. John the Baptist in the Galleon “Santa Rosa” He was a native of Rio-Seco. According to the account of Fray Gaspar de San Agustin “Vino en ocasion de no haber en ellas quien tuviera este caracter, por lo que fueron muchos a quienes ordeno y Ileno de consuelo”. He died in October 1692.
