The National Shrine of St. Joseph Parish (NSSJ) – Mandaue City celebrates its 387th Annual Fiesta in honor of St. Joseph.
Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma presided over the Holy Mass. With him were Most Rev. Osvaldo Padilla (Apostolic Nuncio Emeritus to Korea), Most Rev. Antonio Rañola (Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Cebu), the Team of Pastors, and other visiting priests.
In his homily, the good Archbishop reflected that even though Mary and Joseph were chosen by God, they were not spared from sorrow, yet they continued to trust Him. He encouraged us to do the same amidst our own challenges.
“In the journey of faith, in the journey of life, like Mary and Joseph and other people, aduna gyuy challenges sa atong pagtuo. Perhaps, like St. Joseph in the Gospel reading, he may not understand nganong mao man kini and yet salig sa Ginoo. It is at this point nga kita sab giawhag to put our trust in God, and likewise to draw close to St. Joseph, and to pray, ‘Sñr. San Jose, ikaw man ang among kauban sa panaw nga budlay sa pagtuo, ubani kami,” the Archbishop said.
