The Cebu Commission on Worship invites newly commissioned lectors and tenured ministers who have not yet undergone formal liturgical formation to participate in a two-day Basic Liturgical Formation Program scheduled on September 5 and 12, 2026.
The program aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the sacred ministry of proclaiming the Word of God during the liturgy. It is open to all newly commissioned lectors across the Archdiocese of Cebu, while experienced ministers who have not previously completed a basic formation program are also encouraged to attend.
The formation sessions will be held at the Commission on Worship Office Hall, located on the second floor of the Liturgical Center Building along Legaspi Street in Cebu City, beside the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
To qualify for the program, newly commissioned lectors must submit a recommendation letter signed by their parish priest. Cantors of the Psalm are not included in the formation. Participants are also required to attend both Saturdays, as those who miss one session will not be accommodated.
Registration is open until September 4, 2026, or until the venue reaches full capacity. Participants are advised to bring their own reusable tumblers, as water refill stations will be available at the venue.
Each formation day will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m., followed by four conference sessions with scheduled health breaks. Certificates of attendance will be distributed at the conclusion of the second day.
The registration fee is ₱1,200, covering both days of the program, including morning and afternoon snacks, lunch, and the certificate of attendance.
Those interested may pre-register by visiting the Commission on Worship office from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Inquiries may also be made through the Commission’s landline at (032) 253-0113, via email at cebucommissiononworship@gmail.com, or through the Cebu Commission on Worship Facebook page.
