As an annual tribute to the Blessed Mother on the day of her Nativity, the Cebu Archdiocesan Division of the World Apostolate of Fatima organized the 40th Original Marian Song Festival at the City Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu.

The Original Marian Song Festival aims to offer a “bouquet” of songs dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, transforming the gifts and talents of Cebuano musicians into expressions of love, devotion, and prayer. More than a songwriting competition, it serves as an evangelization initiative that leads the faithful closer to Mary and, through her, to her Son, Jesus Christ.

It began with a Holy Mass presided by Fr. Lyndon Ruiz (District 7 Episcopal Vicar), together with Msgr. Roberto Alesna, (Chaplain, Chapel of San Pedro Calungsod-SRP), and Fr. Martin Belongilot (Chaplain, Capelinha de Fatima Replica – San Remigio).

This year, the song festival gathered 13 entries from budding and veteran Cebuano musicians who offered their gift of music as a heartfelt tribute to the Blessed Mother.
