Today, the St. Joseph the Carpenter Parish in Nueva Caceres, Oslob, Cebu, celebrates its 148th annual fiesta in honor of its patron, St. Joseph.
Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma presided over the Fiesta Mass. With him were Rev. Fr. Jose Arniel S. Mante (Parish Priest) and other visiting priests.
In his homily, the good Archbishop emphasized that work is an expression of love. Thus, we should never take for granted the sacrifices of those who labor for the family’s sake and in the name of love.
He added that every work is dignified because the worker is a child of God. Regardless of the work, as long as it contributes to the well-being of the family and the community, we should thank the Lord and give Him the glory.
“What is worth doing is worth doing well. Unta ang atong pagtan-aw sa trabaho dili lamang tungod sa sweldo, pero you know, nga nag-contribute sa kaayohan sa katilingban. Everything we do, kon atong pamalandongan, should give glory to God,” said Archbishop Palma.
