San Fernando El Rey Parish celebrates its 180th fiesta

San Fernando El Rey Parish in Liloan, Cebu, celebrates its 180th annual parochial fiesta.

Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma presided over the Holy Mass. He was joined by Cebu Auxiliary Bishop-Emeritus Antonio Rañola, the Team of Pastors led by Fr. Jonjie Ybañez (Team Moderator), and other visiting priests.

In his homily, the good Archbishop spoke of leadership and service. Just as San Fernando El Rey, though king, integrated his love of God in his service, we, too, are called to live the Christian life in whatever profession we are in so that we can give hope, inspiration, and joy to others.

“Kung ato hunahunaon, kita tanan dili man gayod unta takus. Pero ang Ginoo, sa iyang dakong gugma nagpili nato, nagtawag nato pinaagi sa bunyag, ug sa Espiritu Santo nagpuyo sa atong kasingkasing. Mao kini ato misyon, tungod niini, we are being sanctified to bring glad tidings, to bring the Good News sa atong kaigsounan. Bisan unsang paagi, bisan unsang profession, kitang tanan gitahasan pagdala og paglaum, inspirasyon, kalipay sa atong kaigsuonan,” said Archbishop Palma.
