The Archdiocese of Cebu joyfully invites all the faithful, especially THOSE WHO WERE BORN IN THE YEAR 2000, the Year of the Great Jubilee, to join the Opening Celebration of the Jubilee Year 2025 on Sunday, December 29, 2024.

In his address to young people, St. Pope John Paul II looks forward with glistening hope for the future of the Church, especially those who were born in 2000, as they are entrusted with the mission of becoming her future leaders and followers.

“Dear young people, keep aloft and shining brightly the lamp of faith which this evening I symbolically entrust to you and your contemporaries in every corner of the world. With this light, illumine the paths of life; set the world ablaze with love!” (Address of Pope John Paul II to Children at the Closing Celebration of the Jubilee last 5 January 2001)

The celebration will begin with a solemn procession from the Cebu Provincial Capitol Grounds at 3:00 PM, culminating in a Eucharistic Celebration at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral at 5:30 PM.

The assembly time is at 2:00 PM at the Capitol Area.
