Today, the Pope John XXIII Seminary (PJS) holds its 65th Commencement Exercises with the theme: “PJS: A Community Beloved of God, Witnessing to the Gift of Humanity in the Person of Jesus and in the Challenge of the New Ratio.”
For this year, the seminary has 12 graduates from the Senior High School Department and 15 Completers from the Junior High School Department.
The exercises begin with a Holy Mass presided over by Msgr. Rogelio Fuentes (Vicar General) at the St. John Mary Vianney Chapel of PJS.
In his homily, Msgr. Rogelio reminds the seminarians that the most important byproduct of any formation is to be good persons.
“How do you define a good person? A good person is someone who believes that you are loved. That is a good person. That you are loved unconditionally by God,” said Msgr. Roger.
He also urges them to become agents of God’s love wherever life may take them.
“You can go anywhere, you can spread that goodness, you can spread that faith, you can become multipliers. Nindot jud if mag pari mo. But if di magpari, be the best husband you can be, the best person you can be, and make the seminary proud,” Msgr. Rogelio said.
Fr. Allan P. Delima (PJS Rector) ended the program by addressing the graduates that seminary formation is about being inspired by God’s love for us and learning to love and be loved in return.
