Second batch of Cebu Clergy attend 5-day annual retreat

The second batch of the Cebu Clergy successfully conducted their 5-day annual retreat at the Holy Family Retreat House, Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City.

Fr. Ben Eric Lozada from the Diocese of Dumaguete, rector of St. Joseph College Seminary and Chairman of the Diocesan Commission on Seminarians, facilitated the retreat.

He expounded on the theme, “Believing, Hoping, and Remaining in the Love of Jesus: A Priestly Pilgrimage.”

Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma presided over the Holy Mass.

In his homily, the good Archbishop urged the priests to be constantly aware that God loves them, and the way they respond to that love should be their priority in their priestly ministry.

“The Cebuano people are very friendly to the clergy. Kulang nalang ma-spoil ba kay they are very good. With that, the big challenge for us is how we can be grateful to the Lord and how we should serve them as we ought, as we should. That’s where we seek the guidance of the Lord in prayer,” said Archbishop Palma.

The next batch of clergy retreat will be on September 1-5, 2025.

Let us continue to pray for our priests and a bountiful harvest of the ministry.
