Patricio Hacbang Alo was born in Cebu City, a nephew of former Bishop of Calbayog Sofronio Hacbang. Bishop “Pat” was for many years the Archdiocesan Chancellor of Cebu (1966-1981) until he was ordained bishop on June 10, 1981. He succeeded Bishop Dean as Auxiliary Bishop of Davao. He was the first Bishop of Mati, Davao Oriental (1984). Before he became bishop he was Parish Priest of St. Therese in Lahug (1976) and then of Capitol Parish (1979). He passed away on April 13, 2021.
