Daanbantayan Parish Marks 167th Fiesta

The faithful of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Sta. Rosa de Lima in Daanbantayan will celebrate its 167th Parochial Fiesta tomorrow, August 30.

The outgoing Cebu Archbishop Jose S. Palma presided over the Visperas Mass, together with Fr. Randy Nebria (Parish Priest), Fr. Domingo Candole (Parochial Vicar), Fr. Ladislao Tangente (Resident Priest), and other visiting priests.

Reflecting on the life of St. Rose of Lima who wholeheartedly offered her life to God, the good Archbishop in his homily reminded everyone that true fulfillment comes from giving ourselves selflessly to others.

He urged everyone to reexamine and ask ourselves: What can we share with our community? How can we contribute our gifts and talents to God’s greater glory?

“Unsa man sa atong kinabuhi nga makaingon kita nga we can offer to God? Kang St. Rose, ang iyahang beauty, chastity, obedience. Sa atoa, unsa man? Gihatagan kita lain-laing gift dili lamang alang kanato, apan aron aduna kitay mapaambit sa uban. Mga butang maayo, ang pagsakripisyo, mga kaayohan, kining tanan nagpakita sa paghimaya sa Ginoo,” said Archbishop Palma.
