Use media to thank and proclaim God, says Arch. Uy

In celebration of the first Fiesta in honor of St. Carlo Acutis after he was canonized last September 7, Cebu Archbishop Alberto Uy presided over a Holy Mass together with the members of the Cebu Archdiocesan Digital Communications Ministry (CADComM), the Archbishop’s household, friends, and benefactors of CADComM, at St. Joseph’s Chapel inside the Archbishop’s Residence Compound.

In his homily, Archbishop Uy anchored his reflection on passages that speak of gratitude in various situations. He emphasized that by thanking and acknowledging God in the daily events of life, we recognize Him as the source of every blessing.

The good archbishop reflected on the life of St. Carlo Acutis, who demonstrated how media and technology can be used to express love and gratitude for Jesus.

“While others use the internet for fame or distraction, Carlo used it for evangelization. He built websites documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world – using the digital world to proclaim the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. He understood what it meant to be “the one who returned to thank the Lord,” he said.

He also encouraged the members of CADComM and those involved in the media apostolate to use their gifts not for personal gain but to amplify the message of the Gospel through their personal witnessing.

“Like St Carlo Acutis, God calls you to use your gifts, not for personal glory but to magnify the Lord. Each time you capture a story of hope, share a testimony of faith, or communicate truth, amidst noise of you are doing what the grateful leper did – you are returning to Jesus, giving thanks and proclaiming his goodness to the world,” he exhorted.

St. Carlo Acutis, pray for us!
