In celebration of the Jubilee of Environmentalists, Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy presided over the Mass for Creation at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
He was joined by the Cathedral team of pastors led by Msgr. Rey Penagunda (Team Moderator & Vicar General), Fr. Jonas Yap (Chairman, Archdiocesan Commission on Environmental Concerns), and other visiting priests.
Emphasizing the importance of Care for Creation, Archbishop Abet in his homily reminded the faithful that our relationship with creation is a reflection of our relationship with God. He urged everyone to cherish and protect the environment as a sacred duty, intertwining our spiritual journey with our responsibility towards nature.
“To love God also means to love his creation. Way pulos atong pag-ampo ug pagsimba kon wa tay gugma sa iyang kabuhatan,” said Archbishop Abet.
