Continuing his listening journey across the Archdiocese, Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy meets today with the District 5 clergy at St. John de Sahagun Parish in Toledo City.
The day began with a warm welcome from the local faithful, followed by a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Archbishop Uy.
Reflecting on today’s Feast in honor of the young Visayan martyr, St. Pedro Calungsod, the good Archbishop reminded the faithful that regardless of age, we can offer our lives in serving God and the community.
“Daghan sa ato moingon, ‘Mangalagad ko sa simbahan, unya na kanang mo-retire nako.’ Just give yourself to God. Anything you can do, bisan ginagmay basta para sa Ginoo, that can make God happy and that is already a form of service. While you have the strength and passion, give it to God. That is the secret of happiness,” said Archbishop Abet.
After the Eucharistic celebration, the clergy engaged in a meaningful exchange of reflections, sharing experiences and perspectives on how they might continue to nurture unity and collaboration within the presbyterium.
More than a series of consultations, this initiative underscores Archbishop Uy’s dedication to sincere and open dialogue—his commitment to listening, learning, and accompanying the priests who lead the faithful throughout the Archdiocese of Cebu.
