Today, thousands of devotees of the Blessed Virgin Mary gather as the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe de Cebu Parish celebrates its 92nd Fiesta Señora with the theme, “Our Lady of Guadalupe de Cebu: Source and Inspiration of Hope.”

Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy presided over the Fiesta Pontifical Concelebrated Mass. With him were the Team of Pastors led by Fr. Joselito Danao (Team Moderator), Apostolic Nuncio Emeritus to Korea Osvaldo Padilla, Cebu Auxiliary Bishop-Emeritus Antonio Rañola, and other concelebrating priests.

Inspired by today’s Gospel on Mary’s visitation to Elizabeth, Archbishop Uy emphasized the importance of helping others who are in need, urging the faithful to emulate Mary in her humility and humble obedience.

She went in haste. Wala gyud naglangan, wa gyud magdugay. She went right away because love cannot wait.

On a final note, Archbishop Uy urged the faithful to bring Christ to everyone, regardless of any differences, emphasizing that wherever Jesus is, there Mary is also found.

‘Bisan usa ug bisan unsa orasa, atong dalhon si Jesus. Let people see and experience Jesus through each one of us.
