Tomorrow, February 11, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Universal Church will commemorate the 34th World Day of the Sick, a day dedicated to prayer, solidarity, and compassion for those who suffer.
In his message for this year’s observance, Pope Leo reflects on the healing presence of God amid human frailty. He calls the faithful to become signs of hope for the sick — not only through care and service, but through attentive listening, closeness, and love.
The Holy Father reminds us that illness, while often marked by pain and uncertainty, can also become a sacred place of encounter with Christ, who walks with the suffering and never abandons them.
