CADComM brings Christmas joy to Tino survivors

Cebu Archdiocesan Digital Communications Ministry (CADComM) held its annual gathering this year by spending the Christmas season with some of those affected by Bagyong Tino in Lawaan III, Talisay City.

The group was warmly welcomed at the Formation House of the Siervas Nuestra Señora de la Paz, where the day opened with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Noel Meñoso, concelebrated with Fr. Junel Fuentes (CADComM Director), and Fr. Jesam Felicano, who delivered the homily.

In his reflection, Fr. Jesam led the faithful back to the heart of Christmas—the Nativity of Christ. He reminded everyone that the Holy Mass is not simply a ritual to be fulfilled, but a living encounter with Jesus, the true source of Christmas joy and hope.

After the Mass, simple activities followed. Children and volunteers shared meals, played games, and laughed together, fostering a spirit of fraternity and joy.

Nearly two months after flash floods ravaged the community, many families remain in the evacuation center, quietly enduring uncertainty as they wait for the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

Amid these challenges, the children and their guardians offered a hopeful response—making a collective pledge to care for Mother Nature, affirming their commitment to stewardship and responsibility for the sake of future generations.

This Christmas gathering served as a gentle reminder: beyond gifts and celebrations, the greatest offering is the gift of presence. In choosing to share time, faith, and compassion, Christ is found anew in the simplicity of being with one another.

Photos of the children are shared with the consent and permission of their parents or guardians.
