Peace: The Second Advent Candle

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” (Is 52:7)

From the patience of Hope, a stilling light emerges: Peace. This is not merely the absence of conflict, but the profound Shalom—the wholeness of God’s presence restored between humanity and the Divine.

The assurance of the promised redemption grants a tranquility of spirit, a divine grace assured to all who labor for reconciliation and justice. It is the prophetic vision of swords beaten into plowshares, a reminder that the Christ-child will be called the Prince of Peace (Is 9:6).
