The young clergy of the Archdiocese of Cebu continues its annual residency program in Alcoy, Cebu, guided and enriched by the presence of Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy, who serves as this year’s facilitator.
The program gathers the newest members of the presbyterate—priests from their ordination up to five years in ministry—offering them a space for ongoing formation, fraternity, and spiritual renewal.
Today’s celebration of the Holy Mass was led by the Batch of 2020, with Fr. Rogel Murillo serving as presider and Fr. Christian James Mayol delivering the homily.
Reflecting on the priestly vocation as a profound gift, Fr. Mayol encouraged his brother priests to cultivate a constant spirit of gratitude before the Lord, to nurture genuine fraternal and pastoral charity, and to embrace responsible stewardship in every dimension of their priestly life.
“Gigasahan Kita. Busa magmapasalamaton gayod kita. Ug unta sa atong pagkamapasalamaton andam usab sa pagpadaplin sa mga negative biases. Ug sa atong pagkamapasalamaton, di kita mahadlok sa accountability,” said Fr. Mayol.
Let us pray for our young priests. May the Lord strengthen their hearts, guard their purity, deepen their humility, and fill their ministry with joy.
