As the Church enters the holy night of Christ’s birth, the faithful gather in prayerful anticipation and hope at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral for the Vigil Mass of Christmas presided over by Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy.
Together with Archbishop Abet were Cebu Archbishop-Emeritus Jose Palma, the Cathedral’s team of pastors, and other visiting priests.
Amid life’s darkness—when the light people long for seems to flicker in human sight—the good Archbishop exhorted the faithful that Christmas stands as our affirmation of hope: God has chosen to enter our broken world and dwell among us.
