Teatro Rosita opens as new evangelization venue

The Teatro de San Pedro Calungsod formally unveiled “Teatro Rosita,” a black box little theater located within the grounds of San Isidro Labrador Parish in Talisay City, Cebu.

Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy led the blessing and inauguration rites, coinciding with his 33rd Sacerdotal Ordination Anniversary.

Teatro Rosita is named after Rosita Velez Ancajas, the mother of renowned playwright and director of Teatro de San Pedro Calungsod, Msgr. Agustin “Ting” Ancajas.

After the blessing, Msgr. Ting staged “Mga Dula sa Paglaum” for Archbishop Abet and his visitors.

The theater aims to serve as a venue for evangelization through the arts, showcasing the transformative beauty of performance.
