So did the message of Cebu Archbishop Alberto S. Uy ring through the Chapel of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary on the eve of the Solemnity of All Saints.
“Let us aspire to inspire, before we expire. Kon sa binisaya pa: Tinguhaa nga makadasig sa di pa ka mo kirig. This is our call on this great solemnity of All Saints,” said Archbishop Abet.
The Good Archbishop offered the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to mark the Blessing of the Chapel, located inside SM City Cebu. He was joined by the Seminary Priest-Formators, led by their respective rectors: Fr. Allan Delima (Pope John XXIII Minor Seminary), Fr. Alvin Raypan (San Carlos Seminary College), and Fr. Mhar Vincent Balili (Seminario Mayor de San Carlos), who serve as Administrators of the Chapel.
The Archbishop exhorted the Faithful to take on three movements, as the Universal Church stands at the threshold of this great Solemnity: to desire it, believe it, and live it.
“It is normal for us to have desires and aspirations in life, but as followers of Christ, one desire must be greater than everything else – the desire to become a saint. May we echo these words every day: Lord, I want to become a saint.
As followers of Christ, we believe that holiness is our primary call. Holiness is not for the perfect. After all, the saints are not perfect. They struggled, they made mistakes, they failed. A famous writer once said: Saints are sinners who never stopped trying to do good. Let us remember that Holiness is possible for you and me. Not by our strength, but from that of God.
Finally, let us live out the vocation of holiness. Do not wait for extraordinary opportunities to become holy. Ang pagkabalaan makab-ot gyud na sa inadlaw-adlaw nga pagkinabuhi. Daghan kitag higayon nga mahimong balaan.”
Masses are offered regularly at the Chapel at 06:00 PM on weekdays.
On Saturdays, there are two Masses at 05:00 PM and 07:00 PM. These Masses are “Anticipated Masses,” meaning that they use the Sunday Liturgy.
On Sundays, Masses are offered at 10:00 and 11:30 in the Morning, and at 02:00 PM, 04:00 PM, and 06:00 PM.
