Members of the Commission on Youth (COY) and the Cebu Archdiocesan Youth Coordinating Council (CDYCC) were officially commissioned by Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy during the audience and meeting at the Filipiniana Hall of the Archbishop’s Residence.
During the gathering, the newly elected CDYCC Implementation and Pastoral Committee and COY’s pastoral direction and plans for 2026–2028 were presented to the Archbishop.
Fr. Dave Cantillas (COY Director) likewise introduced the core team of the COY Cebu Delegation for World Youth Day Korea 2027.
In his message, Archbishop Abet reminded the council that their mission is rooted in God’s call, emphasizing that every act of service should always be centered on Christ
“Please know, even before you were born, you were already commissioned … When you do your work, you always do your work in Jesus,” said Archbishop Abet.
The Archbishop encouraged the council to seek God’s guidance in every decision, recognizing that their ministry is not their own but God’s.
“Since this commissioning came from God, before you do anything, you consult God,” he said.
As the newly commissioned leaders begin their ministry and the World Youth Day Korea 2027 core team delegation continues its preparations, may they remain steadfast in their vocation to serve with humility, faith, and joy, always seeking God’s will in every decision and inspiring more young people to encounter Christ through their witness.
