More than a hundred members of Couples for Christ (CFC), a Catholic charismatic community, gathered today at the USJR Basak Pardo Campus in Cebu City for the second day of the CFC – Kids for Christ Eastern and Central Visayas Family Conference Echo 2026.
Inspired by 1 John 1:3–4, the gathering seeks to unite families in faith and fellowship under the theme “Full Build.”
Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” S. Uy presided over the Eucharistic Celebration. He was joined by Monsignor Vicente Rey Penagunda, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Cebu.
Anchored on the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins, Archbishop Abet’s homily addressed how children can keep their spiritual lamps burning bright with love and good works.
“Do you want to go to heaven? Of course, but the question is, How do you make it there [heaven]? Everytime you pray, you become [like] a light. Everytime you pray your parents, you will get closer to heaven. Everytime you share your food or help someone in need, you become Jesus’ light for the world,” said Archbishop Abet.
Encouraging the young participants to live out their faith through everyday deeds, he reminded them that holiness is built through simple acts of love and kindness.
“Every single act of kindness is a step closer to heaven,” he added.
