Archdiocesan Prison Apostolate

The Cebu Archdiocesan Prison Apostolate (CAPA) is a ministry focused on reaching out to prisoners, helping them find spiritual renewal, and supporting their reintegration into society. 

While the specific services may evolve or vary, generally, CAPA provides the following key services to the incarcerated

1. Evangelization of Persons Deprived of Liberty
   1. Facilitating PDLs encounter with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
   2. Facilitating PDLs Reception of the Sacraments
2. Research and Development
   1. Identify Situation’s Issues and Concerns (ISIAC)
   2. Prioritize which ISIAC to respond
   3. Responsive Plans and Actions for each ISIAC
3. Evangelization of PDL’s Families
   1. Facilitating PDL’s Families Encounter with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
   2. Facilitating PDL’s Families Reception of the Sacraments
4. EX-PDL After Care Program
   1. Ongoing Formation of Ex-PDLs
   2. Livelihood Skills Training of Ex-PDLs
   3. Assistance for Ex-PDLs seeking jobs
5. Evangelization of PDLs Victims
   1. Facilitating PDLs Victims Encounter with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
   2. Facilitating PDLs Victims Reception of the Sacraments
   3. Facilitating Reconciliation of PDLs and Victims
6. Legal and Paralegal Services
   1. Facilitating PDLs’ Case be handled by lawyer
   2. Following-up documents pertinent to PDLs’ case
7. Holy Family Crusade
   1. Promoting Enthronement of the Holy Family as the Model of Christian Families
   2. Assisting Christian Families in imitating the Holy Family
   3. Organizing Associations of Christian Families (ABBA and Cooperatives)
