“If we are honest, many people today still believe in God, but struggle to live for Him. We live in a fast, noisy, and distracted world. We are busy, connected online, but often disconnected from what truly matters.
And so Jesus speaks to us today: “Whoever loves me will keep my word.”
The question is very practical: What does love for God look like in our life today?
Let me offer three simple and very real ways.
Love for God means choosing Him in a world full of choices
Today, we are surrounded by options—what to watch, what to buy, what to believe, how to live. But not all choices lead us to God.
To love God today means choosing what is right even when it is unpopular. Choosing honesty when cheating is easier. Choosing purity when the culture says “anything goes.” Choosing to stand for truth even if it costs us.
Love for God is not just saying “Lord, I love You.” It is saying, “Lord, I choose You again and again.”
Love for God means making space for Him in a busy life
Many people today are not bad; they are just busy. Busy with work, studies, responsibilities, social media. And slowly, without noticing, God is pushed to the side.
Jesus says: “We will come and make our dwelling with him.” God wants to live in us, but do we give Him space?
Do we still pray daily? Do we listen to His Word? Do we have moments of silence?
If we can spend hours on our phones, surely we can give a few minutes to God. Love for God today means intentionally making time for Him.
Love for God means allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us in confusion
We are living in a time of so many voices—opinions, trends, influencers. Sometimes we no longer know what is true.
Jesus assures us: “The Holy Spirit will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.”
We are not alone. God guides us through our conscience, through Scripture, through the teachings of the Church.
But we need to listen.
Before making decisions, do we ask: “Lord, what do You want?” Or do we simply follow what is easy, popular, or convenient?
Final Words
My dear friends, to love God today is not easy, but it is possible. And it is beautiful.
In a world that is often confused, distracted, and tired, a person who truly loves God becomes a light.
So today, let us ask ourselves: In my daily life—am I choosing God? Am I making time for Him? Am I listening to His Spirit?
Because in the end, love for God is not proven by what we say; it is seen in how we live. And the world today needs not just believers, but witnesses.”
