As part of the celebration of the 10th Archdiocesan Couples’ Day in honor of the Couple Saints, Sts. Louis and Zélie Martin, the Cebu Archdiocesan Commission on Family and Life will hold the first Archdiocesan Couples’ Congress on July 11, 2026, at the JSU-PSU Mariners Court Conference Hall.

With the theme, “A Listening Family: A Step Towards a Synodal Journey for a Church Fully Alive,” the congress aims to strengthen marriages and family life by encouraging couples to deepen their faith, foster dialogue, and grow in communion within their families and the Church.

The one-day gathering will feature talks from Most Rev. Marvyn Maceda, Bishop of San Jose de Antique and Vice-Chairman for the Visayas Region of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Family and Life; Bro. Edwin Lopez, Executive Secretary of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Social Communications and Senior Director for Asia Pacific of EWTN Global Operations; and Bro. Edwin Valles, former president and advocate of Courage Philippines.

Organizers said the congress seeks to inspire couples to embrace their vocation to marriage by drawing lessons from the lives of Sts. Louis and Zélie Martin, the first married couple to be canonized together by the Catholic Church.

Registration for the event is free, although attendance is limited and will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested participants may register by scanning the QR code on the official event poster or by accomplishing the online registration form. Registration will close on June 30, 2026.

The Archdiocesan Commission on Family and Life encourages married couples across the Archdiocese of Cebu to participate in the congress as a way of celebrating the gift of marriage and renewing their commitment to love, communion, and shared mission in building families rooted in faith.
