Today, the Church begins the commemoration of the Paschal Triduum with the public recitation of the Tinieblas.
Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” S. Uy led the praying of the Tinieblas at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
Just as Christ’s suffering on the Cross was not without purpose but was offered for the salvation of all, the good Archbishop, in his reflection, urged the faithful to embrace the crosses they carry in their daily lives.
He encouraged them to bear these burdens with faith and meaning—offering each sacrifice not only for their loved ones, but also for the greater good of the community.
“Dili nato pas-anon ang krus nga nag-inusara. Ato kining pas-anon uban ni Jesus. Pas-anon uban sa pagkamapaubsanon. Ug sa atong pagpas-an sa krus, atong ihalad kining tanan para sa kaluwasan ug kahimayaan sa atong minahal ug sa mga tawo sa katilingban,” said Archbishop Abet.
