Faith amid darkness, Archbishop Uy urges at Tinieblas Day 2

On this second day of Tinieblas, Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” S. Uy reflected on the symbolism of the candles gradually extinguished after each Psalm.

Archbishop Abet invited the faithful to contemplate the mystery of the redemption, likening the fading lights to Christ’s journey to Calvary.

Duna man guy kandila, duna man gyoy kahayag nga magpabilin ug dili gyod mapalong,” Archbishop Abet said.

The good Archbishop reminded the faithful to hold steadfast to Christ, who is the source of hope amidst life’s trials and challenges.

Always remember, there is one candle. There is a light, the light — Jesus — the light of the world that remains, our hope,” he exhorted.
