Archbishop Uy to deliver State of the Archdiocese Address

In line with the 92nd anniversary of Cebu’s elevation as an archdiocese, Archbishop Alberto “Abet” S. Uy is set to deliver his first State of the Archdiocese Address, outlining the current condition and future direction of the local Church.

Uy, who is now in his seventh month as shepherd of the Archdiocese of Cebu, will present his assessment to the Cebuano faithful on April 28, 2026, at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.

The event will begin with a Holy Mass at 4:00 p.m., followed by the formal address.

The archbishop’s message will be anchored on the Church’s ongoing commitment to synodality—emphasizing communion, participation, and mission among the faithful. The address is also expected to reflect on the archdiocese’s journey and outline priorities as it moves closer to its centennial celebration.
