Today, the San Isidro Labrador Parish – Nug-as, Alcoy, Cebu marks its 4th Day Novena in preparation for its 5th annual parish fiesta.
Cebu Archbishop Alberto “Abet” Uy presided over the Holy Mass. He was joined by Fr. Sherwyll Mingo (Parish Priest) and other visiting priests.
In his homily, Archbishop Abet reminded the faithful that, like San Isidro Labrador, every work should begin with prayer, entrusting all labor and efforts to God.
He also emphasized the value of faithfulness and integrity in one’s duties, even when no one is watching, stressing that people should not work merely to please their superiors, but to glorify God through honest and dedicated service.
“Sama ni San Isidro, gituman niya ang iyang obligasyon dili tungod sa iyang amo, kondili tungod sa Ginoo… buhaton nato atong trabaho bisan og walay nagtan-aw, kay naa may Ginoo sa langit nag tan-aw nato.” said the good Archbishop.
The parish will celebrate its fiesta on May 15, 2026. Msgr. Vicente Rey Penagunda, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Cebu, will preside over the 10:00 AM Fiesta Mass.
