God will never forget you

There is one line in today’s Gospel that I hope we can bring home with us: “Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.”

Jesus gives us three simple reminders today.

First, do not pretend.

Jesus warns us about hypocrisy—trying to appear good before others while hiding what is really in our hearts.

Sometimes we worry too much about what people think of us. But before God, we do not need to pretend. He already knows us completely—our goodness, our weaknesses, our struggles—and still He loves us.

Second, do not be afraid to do what is right.

Sometimes we know what is right, but we hesitate because we are afraid of what others might say.

Unsa kaha ilang isulti nako? Basin masuko sila. Basin dili na ko nila ganahan.

But we cannot spend our whole life trying to please everybody. There will be moments when following Jesus costs us something.

It is better to lose people’s approval than to lose our way with God.

Finally, Jesus tells us: Trust your Father.

He speaks about the little sparrows. They may seem insignificant, yet not one of them is forgotten by God.

And neither are you.

Perhaps you are carrying a burden today—a problem in your family, your health, your work, or your future.

Jesus tells you: “Do not be afraid.” The Father knows. The Father sees. The Father cares. If He does not forget a little sparrow, He will certainly not forget you.

So today, remember these three things:

Do not pretend.

Do not be afraid to do what is right.

And always trust your Father.

Because whatever tomorrow brings, you are in the hands of a Father who knows you, loves you, and will never forget you.
