“Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.
Many people think the Trinity is a difficult doctrine to understand. And it is true: no human mind can fully comprehend how God is one God in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
But perhaps the most important question is not, “Can I explain the Trinity?” but “Can I live the Trinity?”
The Trinity teaches us that God is not solitude. God is communion. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit live in perfect unity, perfect self-giving, and perfect love.
And the Book of Genesis tells us that we were created in the image and likeness of God. If God is a communion of love, then we are created for love as well.
That is why we become truly God-like not by what we know, not by how much money we possess, not by our status or achievements, but by how we love.
A person may be highly educated, successful, and influential, but if he does not know how to love, forgive, share, and care for others, he does not fully reflect the image of God.
On the other hand, a simple mother who sacrifices for her family, a father who works honestly, a child who obeys and respects others, a neighbor who helps someone in need—these people reflect the life of the Trinity.
In our country today, we often hear of division, corruption, hatred, and selfishness. These are signs that people are forgetting the God whose image they bear.
The feast of the Holy Trinity reminds us that if we want to become a better nation, we must learn to live as a people united in love, respect, service, and communion.
The more we love God and our neighbor, the more the image of God shines in us.
May the Father teach us to love, the Son teach us to serve, and the Holy Spirit teach us to build communion.”
